Jonathan O’Callaghan
Hello! I'm an award-winning freelance space journalist from the UK, but now in Bangkok for a few years, that writes for The New York Times, the BBC, Scientific American, Quanta, New Scientist, Wired, and many other publications.
I cover all areas of space including astronomy, astrophysics, commercial spaceflight, and space exploration. I dabble in other areas too including physics and technology.
In July 2024 I was awarded British Science Journalist of the Year by the Association of British Science Writers (ABSW). In December 2021, I was awarded the AGU's Walter Sullivan Award For Excellence In Science Journalism – Features.
I have worked on a series of non-fiction children’s books and I'm interested in other potential book projects in future. I'm also occasionally on the TV or radio as a space expert for the BBC and other organisations.
